Luxembourg to host the SIOG Annual Conference in 2027

The International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) has selected Luxembourg as the host destination for its 2027 Annual Conference, bringing one of the world’s leading scientific meetings dedicated to cancer care for older adults to the Grand Duchy.

The successful bid marks another important milestone for Luxembourg’s growing profile as a destination for international medical and scientific congresses. The event will be organized by the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) and supported nationally under the leadership of Dr Sophie Pilleron, Group Leader of the Ageing, Cancer and Disparities Research Unit at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), in close collaboration with the Luxembourg Convention Bureau (LCB).

Scheduled to take place towards the end of 2027, the conference will welcome leading clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals from around the world to exchange the latest scientific advances and best practices in geriatric oncology.

A major international congress for Luxembourg

The SIOG Annual Conference represents one of the most significant global meetings dedicated to geriatric oncology. Bringing this prestigious event to Luxembourg highlights the country’s ability to host high-level international scientific conferences and demonstrates the confidence placed in its expertise, accessibility and conference infrastructure.

The Luxembourg Convention Bureau is proud to support the local organising committee throughout the preparation of SIOG 2027 and looks forward to welcoming the international geriatric oncology community to Luxembourg.
