DGPs Congress brings the psychology community together in Luxembourg
From 6 to 10 September 2026, Luxembourg welcomed the 54th Congress of the German Psychological Society (DGPs), bringing together nearly 2,000 participants for several days of scientific exchange, networking and shared experiences.
Under the theme “Haltung. Vielfalt. Zukunft.” – “Attitude. Diversity. Future.”, the congress brought together the international psychology community to address some of today’s major scientific and societal challenges, including mental health, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as the psychology of sustainable behaviour.

Organised by the German Psychological Society (DGPs) together with Congress President Prof. Dr. Robert Kumsta from the University of Luxembourg, the congress addressed some of the key topics shaping psychology and society today. The programme explored areas including mental health, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as sustainable behaviour, through keynotes, panel discussions, scientific presentations and opportunities for professional exchange.
Among the contributors were Prof. Dr. Eva-Lotta Brakemeier, President of the DGPs, as well as Matthias Sperl, Ulrich Ansorge and Annette Kluge, alongside researchers and psychology professionals from across the German-speaking scientific community.
As one of the leading gatherings for psychology in the German-speaking world, the DGPs Congress provided an important platform for sharing research, discussing current developments and strengthening connections across institutions and disciplines.
The event was also awarded the Green Business Events label, reflecting the integration of more responsible and sustainable practices throughout its organisation.
