Patients in the Spotlight in Luxembourg: SPX International Colloquium 2025
From 6 to 8 October 2025, LuxExpo The Box in Luxembourg City hosted the 6th edition of the SPX International Colloquium. Professionals, researchers, policy-makers, and patient advocates from across the globe came together to explore how patient experience can shape the future of healthcare.
Learning, Sharing, and Co-Designing
Across plenary sessions, panels and workshops, participants tackled very concrete challenges in healthcare:
How to integrate patient feedback into decision-making processes
How to measure patient experience reliably and turn data into action
How to transform organisational culture so that patient-centred care becomes standard practice
Workshops also explored methods such as co-design approaches, where patients actively contribute to shaping care pathways, and tools used to better understand lived experiences within healthcare systems.
International Voices That Made an Impact
International experts shared strategies and real-world examples, illustrating how patient experience drives innovation. Participants gained insights into practical approaches for integrating patients’ perspectives into decision-making and service design, reinforcing that healthcare is strongest when it’s truly collaborative.
Moreover, with sessions held in both English and French, the event fostered an inclusive environment for discussion. What stood out was the diversity of perspectives: hospital leaders, frontline professionals, researchers and patients themselves all contributed to a multi-layered conversation on healthcare transformation.
Luxembourg as a Hub for Healthcare Innovation
Taking place during Healthcare Week Luxembourg, the colloquium reinforced the country’s position as a hub for international dialogue on healthcare innovation. Beyond the sessions, networking moments allowed participants to build connections across disciplines and countries, extending the impact of the event beyond the three days.
The colloquium highlighted a growing shift in healthcare: moving from a system designed for patients to one built with them.
